‘The Kominsky Method’, Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin are Bingeworthy for Netflix.

The laugh/cry a minute new adult sitcom from Chuck Lorre.

The International Movie Data base (IMDb) is the industry standard for critical and customer satisfaction.

The Kominsky Method. IMDb pro-rating 8.4 with a 98% approval from Google. Chuck Lorre is a master comedy writer and he seems to even be making himself laugh in this adult comedy, with no painted veil over the reality of aging. He may be in his twilight years, but aging acting coach Sandy Kominsky isn’t ready to ride off into the sunset just yet. The once-famous Kominsky and his longtime agent, Norman Newlander, keep each other laughing as they tackle the curveballs that life throws at them while navigating their later years in Los Angeles, a city that values youth and beauty. The Netflix original sitcom has a strong Hollywood pedigree; it was created by multiple Emmy winner Chuck Lorre and stars Oscar winners Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin as Kominsky and Newlander, respectively. Nancy Davis is an always refreshing love interest, and Sarah Baker is Kominsky’s clear-headed, straight shooting, right-hand daughter/assistant.

What a delightful way to wind down from the Thanksgiving Holiday! I love bingeable TV. I’ve always been a fan of both Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin,  to see them playing two curmudgeons is a delight. They’re so believable! But really, the show is sharp, edgy and has Patti LaBelle singing at Temple for a funeral service. Danny DeVito hams it up as Michael Douglas’s Proctologist, Elliot Gould is an extra bonus. It’s part light-hearted, part sharply painful, but always deliciously fun. Michael Douglas lets all resistance fly as he embraces being in the prime of his twilight years. A must see experience. Starts a wee bit slow, laying the backstory and all, but the laughs really kick in by Episode 2. Happy!
