THE MANSON BROTHERS Fight For Their Lives in ‘Midnight Zombie Massacre’. theaters and On Demand September 10

Original Horror/Comedy Film Tackles Wrestling’s Most Hated Team, The Manson Brothers, who must fight for their Lives to contain a Zombie Virus! When you can’t decide if you want to laugh, scream, or both! Move over ‘Werewolf of London!’

Horror and Comedy use the technique of mounting tension, precise timing, and in the end, a big payoff, to motivate you to laugh or scream. In horror-comedy, it’s both; a physical and mental reaction that can make the scares scarier and the humor funnier.

By combining Horror with Fun you get the perfect magic wand that makes a new trick pay off! Too busy being scared to laugh? That’s when a funny moment pops up. Laughing so hard you can’t remember why you were scared? That’s when it’s time for another bit of horror to scream at and let the tension out.

The Manson Brothers Midnight Zombie Massacre, directed by Max Martini (Pacific Rim) and starring Randy Couture (The Expendables), DB Sweeney (The Cutting Edge), Adrian Pasdar (Near Dark), and Bas Rutten (Sinners and Saints), is an original film written by former professional wrestlers Mike Carey and Chris Margetis who also play the notorious Manson Brothers.

Ready to release your anxiety disorders?

The film tells the story of the wrestling tag team, The Manson Brothers, now in their twilight years, who are relegated to smaller promotions and agree to a midnight cage match on Halloween. What they don’t know is the contest involves being trapped in the arena with wrestlers and fans infected with a mutated form of rabies. Armed only with their wrestling skills and enchanted Lucha libre masks, they must fight for their lives and ensure the virus is contained to prevent an all-out zombie massacre.

I was lucky to get an interview with Mike and Chris to discuss the release – LMAO!

What inspired two wild and crazy former pro wrestlers from Chicago to not only write but to make Midnight Zombie Massacre?

Mike Carey and Chris Margetis: “We are really excited to give audiences something we feel like they have been longing for—a film that is a FUN. A 90 minute escape from reality.”

What were some thrilling moments of the filmmaking endeavor?

Mike Carey and Chris Margetis: Max Martini coming on board to direct! Max was able to interpret our story and elevate it to another level. He also was responsible for bringing much of the big talent that star in the film, like Randy Couture, DB Sweeney, Adrian Pasner. Max created a relaxed atmosphere on set that facilitated the actors having fun and taking chances. He expanded everybody’s confidence.

Another WOW moment was when we were first setting up to film in this little town in New Mexico. Seeing all the semis driving up and realizing we were really making a movie! We got to put a lot of people, including VETS to work, and our crew and behind-the-scenes staff were Aces! So much hard work goes into pulling this off and you realize how fortunate you are to have all these amazing people in your corner.

How did you enjoy the writing experience? I was happy to see you polished your skills of storytelling like pros, hooking the audience, providing a unique Antagonist, and plenty of twists, turns, and surprises!

Mike Carey and Chris Margetis: Oh yeah! We wanted to pull back the curtain on a world the viewer isn’t familiar with, give them a comfort level, and then turn that world upside down with total zombie mayhem.

What’s next for The Manson Brothers?

Mike Carey and Chris Margetis: We already have a sequel in the works, The Mansion Brothers Satanic Vampire Death Match!

Thanks for the interview and all the laughs. You guys are terrific!
