“The Newsroom” is back for a second season on July 14th on HBO. If you haven’t watched this show it’s a must on my list.
This is a great show with brilliant writing and a stellar cast. You haven’t seen anything like this on TV.
From the mind of Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing and screenwriter of The Social Network and Moneyball, comes The Newsroom, a behind-the-scenes look at the people who make a nightly cable-news program. Focusing on a network anchor (played by Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), the newsroom staff (John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel) and their boss (Sam Waterston).
The series follows news events that have just past that we can all follow. It shows what has happened with the news and how much advertising plays a role in what we see.
If you haven’t watched the first season Aaron Sorkin said in a previous interview that the second season won’t be hard to follow.
