The Walk. Jason Gordon-Levitt earns praise in this true story of daredevil, and high-wire artist, Phillippe Petit. It was always Phillippe’s dream, as a performer growing up in France, to astound the world with his talent. He does just that when he shoots a wire across from one World Trade Center Tower to another, and then walks across, from one building to the other. Death-defying for sure.
Steve Jobs. Michael Fassbender is also garnering Oscar buzz for his performance as Steve Jobs, co-founder of a new world. Set to unleash his first McIntosh computer, Jobs wrestles with also being a family man, with a wife and child, who seems to be more interested in his job than being a Dad. Danny Boyle gets the directing credit. Kate Winslet and Seth Rogen also star.
PAN. Peter Pan is a story that never grows old, and enough happening that it will continually be re-told. That’s the case here when a young boy (Levi Miller), escapes life in an orphanage, to be flown away to adventure in Neverland. Garrett Hedlund plays Captain Hook, Rooney Mara the alluring Tiger Lily.
