Thriller “Mommy Group Murder” Stars Ryan Carnes, Leah Pipes, Kate Mansi – 8pm, March 16 on LIFETIME.

Ryan Carnes shares  insight on his Lifetime Thriller ‘Mommy Group Murder’, airing Saturday night.

A stressed out new mom with postpartum depression, finds more than she bargained for when she joins the local “mommy group”, and befriends a woman with a mysterious past.
It was great speaking with Ryan Carnes (Lucas Jones on General Hospital, Doctor Who) about making the Lifetime Thriller, Mommy Group Murder.

Tell me about the shoot.

Ryan Carnes. We shot in Lousiville, Kentucky. I really enjoyed working with Nick Everhart, who wrote and directed the film. He’s an upbeat director who is able to find the balance between his own vision of what he is creating, while at the same time, giving the actors a lot of freedom. The story is challenging because it starts out as a drama about a normal family with a young baby, and progresses into a real Thriller that has some very scary moments.

I know you were in the Duke University Marching Band. Are you still playing drums?

Ryan Carnes. Yes, it keeps my creative juices flowing. My band is doing a show in Los Angeles, March 25 at the Satellite.

Who inspires you musically?

Ryan Carnes. Danny Carey from TOOL, Carter Beauford – The Dave Matthews Band, and Dave Ghoul, originally from Nirvana and the founder of the FOO FIGHTERS.

What’s coming up in the future?

Ryan Carnes.  I’m still causing trouble in Port Charles(General Hospital), but I am also trying on new hats. I’m writing scripts, and doing development of story-lines for shows that I will be producing with a friend. It’s Pilot season, which means keeping busy with auditions.

Don’t miss Mommy Group Murder, this Saturday at 8pm ET/PT on Lifetime.
