Timothy Olyphant did what In My Hometown?!

Actor Timothy Olyphant grew up in my hometown of Modesto, CA. Some of you may be thinking Modesto where is that? Modesto, is about an hour from Sacramento and SF. It’s in the Central Valley. I always ask how the hell my family ended up there.

People think it’s a small town but compared to others, not so much. My high school graduating class had over 900 people in it.

At the time I was growing up there weren’t a ton of options for stuff for us to do on weekends but I think it was like that a lot of places. When the weekend came around we went to friend’s houses for parties, had get togethers at my house, went to the arcade place, movies or hit McHenry Ave to cruise.

Have you seen the movie American Graffiti? Well, director George Lucas grew up in Modesto and wrote it about his experiences and cruising McHenry.

Back to Timothy Olyphant….he recently went on Conan O’Brien and talked about his time growing up in Modesto and cruising. He did go to my rival school.

I guess he didn’t have the best reputation in town. Timothy spent his time hitting people with fire extinguishers and throwing dummies into traffic. We just honked, laughed, picked up friends and blasted music. He did the complete opposite. I am going to start telling people that Timothy and I grew up together.

Watch the clip below of him. You can see him now on Netflix starring with Drew Barrymore in the new show “Santa Clarita Diet”.
