Christine on her role in Zoolander 2 (in theatres this Friday, February 12th):
“In Zoolander 2 I reprise my role as Matilda Jeffries, and I’m not at liberty to discuss anything beyond that, or where the relationship is with Derek and Matilda, or what’s going on with them at this point, but yes Matilda is back.”

On comparing her “Blue Steel” to Ben Stiller’s and why hers is ‘so bad’:
“Oh no, “Blue Steel” is so not in my wheelhouse! I’ve watched my husband do it and I don’t even know… mine is so bad. Our son’s has gotten really good too, he just does it and he just comes out with “Blue Steel.” Ben does a whole thing where he turns and looks. I just purse my lips and try to look very serious. He does it great, like he gets a furrowed brow and he holds it and I would say that’s one of the most fun things about being married to him because people will just yell at him on the street, “Blue Steel,” and he does it in a heartbeat, which I love. He’s such a good sport about it.”

Being star struck by Carmelo Anthony:
“We are gigantic basketball fans, so any time we go to a basketball game, an NBA game, the New York Knicks, we are giant uber geeks for the big tall guys. I’m like, “Oh my god there’s Carmelo Anthony.” Those athletes I am in awe of. We get to meet a lot of cool celebrities and amazing people, but those professional athletes are amazing for the both of us—we get very geeky.”

On Ben’s father, Jerry Stiller, and his funny holiday traditions:
“Jerry Stiller likes for us to all go around the table, and every year says, “Let’s all go around the table and talk about why we love being in show business,” and there’s probably like three of us at the table that are in show business. My dad certainly isn’t, and so we do a lot of laughing and there’s going to be great stories for the kids to tell about their grandparents and parents someday.”

On balancing motherhood and returning to the silver screen:
“I feel like being a mom, for me, has hands down been the priority… I feel like I struggled more when I started to go back to work because I would feel so guilty, and my daughter really made it hard when she was younger. It was before she could text or any of those things. It was, “Why are you going? Why do you have to leave me? Why?” Really dramatic! Now, she gets it. Last night when I landed here I had a happy family, they were existing without me for one night. It’s been pretty easy for me to sort of juggle both because my priories are always there with them, but it’s great to be able to do a little work every now and then… When my husband’s working or he’s on a film, I tend to not work that time and vice versa, so we make it work, it’s good.”

Christine on her biggest cleaning pet peeve:
“I can’t stand dirty dishes in the sink. I can’t stand messy, dirty dishes. Even if the dishes have to stay in the sink temporarily, clean off the plate. You can clean it off, let the water run. It can be a clean dish in the sink, I’m ok with that, but dirty dishes are a huge issue…everyone in my life knows this about me.”

On finding vacuuming therapeutic:
“I like vacuuming—it’s very therapeutic. You can blast some music and sing some showtunes. I like the lines that it makes on the floors when it’s done, and then I don’t want to walk on it afterwards, I want to sort of tiptoe behind so the lines are there for a few minutes.”
