After the Orlando shooting killed 49 people and injured more than 50 it rocked so many of us. It’s been a time filled with sadness. When tragedy hits it brings so many people together and people who want change.
Some of Broadway’s super stars came together to put out a benefit single for the LGBT Center of Central Florida as a tribute to the victims of last week’s shooting in Orlando.
The song, a cover of Burt Bacharach’s classic “What the World Needs Now is Love” was produced in conjunction with Playbill.
Broadway Records President Van Dean, SiriusXM Radio Host Seth Rudetsky and Producer James Wesley together organized the charitable initiative Broadway for Orlando and an all-star roster of theater artists to record the new benefit single.
The digital download of the iconic 1965 song will be priced at $1.99 and is available for purchase on the label’s website at BroadwayRecords.com beginning today, Monday, June 20, 2016, and iTunes shortly thereafter.
