Well, there’s some good news and bad news for those of you who were eagerly awaiting the spinoff series to Breaking Bad, entitled “Better Call Saul”. The good? AMC has already renewed it for a second season!! And the bad? Don’t expect the premiere to air as planned in November of this year. Instead, it won’t air until some time in 2015.
Perhaps this is a good sign the now co-show runner Vince Gilligan will ensure this series isn’t going to tarnish the legacy of Breaking Bad. I’m all for delays as long as it results in a quality product.
Oh, and about that second season that’s been ordered, it’s for a full slate of 13 episodes, and season 1 will consist of 10 episodes. I’d have to assume AMC’s execs sniff another massive hit on their hands to already be extending the series before not even one episode has aired. Then again, I’ve learned to never trust some of the decision making at the executive level in Hollywood, ha!
Now, before leaving, let’s take this trip down memory lane with a near and dear clip of one of Breaking Bad’s funniest episodes. (in my humble opinion) I hope that Better Call Saul is able to incorporate some of the lightheartedness that made Breaking Bad more than just a serious show about drugs, death, and destruction! Nuff said.
