Breaking News: Kate Walsh is leaving Private Practice

It’s bad enough when a character leaves as show, but when it’s the star, it’s almost devastating. Actress Kate Walsh shared with Bethenny Frankel on her new talk show that she will be leaving ABC’s hit series Private Practice.

She shared that, “this is my last season for Private Practice. It’s been an incredible journey, an amazing ride. I’m hugely, hugely grateful…It’s been a long time being Addison and I feel incredibly grateful to Shonda Rhimes and all the fans that have been there from day one to now, but I’m really excited about the last season…It’s bittersweet. It’s a huge chapter of my life, it’s been eight years.”

Coincidentally, the show was picked up by ABC for the fall, but only for 13 episodes, which is making many of us question it the show will continue without Kate. We could be looking at simply another season finale or it could be the series finale, which would be just terrible since it’s such a great show. They need to bring in some ‘star power’ to fill those shoes and keep the show moving forward. Someone like one of the ladies from Desperate Housewives or GCB.

Who do you think would be a good replacement?

Kate’s full interview with Bethenny Frankel  will air on June 13.
