It was exciting to speak with Celeste Desjardins. We last spoke over 2 years ago when she was premiering her LIFETIME film Zombie at 17.
The series is being called an ‘Obsession Thrillogy’. What a great idea, it’s using a serial format concept rather than single episodes.
Celeste Desjardins. Yes, I was so thrilled to get this part. You really get to develop the character over the 3 episodes and this character was very inspiring for me. Although it is premiering on three consecutive nights, eventually audiences will get to binge-watch the 3 episodes one after the other.
How long was the shoot?
Celeste Desjardins. It was about 10 weeks of non-stop filming. We shot in Ottowa. The cast and crew were upbeat and positive so no matter how strenuous (or thrilling) the shoots were, it was always fun. My co-star Travis Nelson, who often brought me to tears while we were filming, kept me laughing in between takes.
What drew you to this character?
Celeste Desjardins. I don’t want to reveal any of the thrills or surprises but this was such a great character to play. I really admired her. She had a lot of self-turmoil to figure out, but she was able to bounce back. She never gave into self-loathing. She held onto hope and optimism while remaining open to love. It was a challenging role and I learned a great deal.
How have you been keeping busy during the COVID-19 Pandemic?
Celeste Desjardins. It’s actually been a year of growth for me so far.  I have been able to enjoy being with my family and it’s been an opportunity to focus. I’ve been keeping up with my health and fitness program, plus ZOOMing with my acting coach. I’ve also been involved with online distance learning classes. I signed up for the MasterClass app and I’ve been listening to Natalie Portman’s acting classes. She’s fantastic. I’m loving it.
Don’t miss Celeste Desjardins and Travis Nelson in the OBSESSION THRILLOGY starting this Friday at 8 PM ET/PT on LIFETIME!
