It all started in the early nineties when a movie called Small Soldiers came out. This was an action movie based around toys and the critiques including Roger Ebert gave it two thumbs down. Adam Sandler and Jack Giarraputo, the two men behind Happy Madison Productions, hope to flip those downward pointing thumbs one hundred and eighty degrees. Bad Toys II will be a full length feature film and action film more specifically and to zero in even further, starring toys.
Two French animators put together the short that inspired Adam and Jack. Daniel Brunet and Nicolas Douste are the animators who will be teaming up with Sandler and company to put together a lego-breaking blockbuster, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
The two animators site Michael Bay as an influence in the making of their destructive action sequences. It wouldn’t be a bad guess to say Bay was a fan of legos and transformer toys as a kid, so perhaps he will get his hands into this project.
