The tribute show to being a teen struggling with acceptance and the proverbial social ladder, Awkward, will return to the air and this time it will be double the size. Viewers will enjoy a massive 20 episode season, reports Entertainment Weekly.
This show started as a response to complete abstinence of ABC’s The Secret Life of an American Teenager and the inappropriate raunchiness of MTV’s Skins who’s program’s content eventually landed them under federal investigation. Awkward found the middle ground supplying teenage viewers with a sophisticated and witty dialogue that, while still PG, was a step up from Secret Life.
Ashley Richards will be returning as Jenna Hamilton, and she recently was nominated for a Critics Choice Television Award for best actress in a comedy series.
