It’s official, Mariah Carey will be the new American Idol judge, replacing Jennifer Lopez. Carey has been a guest mentor on the show in the past, but now she will be taking her turn in the judges seat for an estimated 12+ million dollars. It’s still known if she has only signed on for one year at a time or if she has signed on for a long term contract, but she certainly brings some mega star power to the show. Let’s see how it affects the ratings.
