This actor is indeed movin’ on up to a deluxe apartment in the sky. Sherman Hemsley played George Jefferson in the unforgettable television program the Jeffersons. People reports Hemsley passed away in his El Paso, Texas home at age 74.
Sherman was most famous for his role as Mr. Jefferson but also appeared in All in the Family, Amen, and made visits to Will Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
The cause of death is unknown but he will live on through his memorable roles.
