It’s official: The new series, ‘Star Trek: Discovery’, that will primarily be showcased on the CBS All Access streaming service, will have a female lead as the new Lt. Commander of the starship Discovery!!
Additionally, it has also been reported the show will be set approximately ten solid years prior to Captain James T. Kirk commanding the U.S.S. Enterprise.
Last but not least, one major facet of this series that will be a reality is the inclusion of a gay character– whether that’s in the form of a human, Klingon, Andorian, Vulcan, it remains to be seen. This will continue the theme of Star Trek being very “progressive” in its casting decisions dating back to the 1960s Original Series.
