According to a report earlier today, Warner Bros is prepared to green-light a spin-off prequel/sequel to The Conjuring.
However, this film would center the attention on that crazed looking doll, Annabelle, as seen in the beginning of The Conjuring. Apparently we would get to learn the full extent of the doll’s back-story, and terror it brought those it came into contact with.
New Line Cinema and Warner Bros have The Conjuring’s director of photography, John R. Leonetti on tap to direct, and it should also be noted The Conjuring 2 is still in the works as well.
My question is, does the Annabelle doll warrant an entire film? Is there enough good material there to stretch out into a spin-off franchise? I have my doubts, but feel free to share your thoughts on this new development below!
