Los Angeles is called “The City of Angels” but for thousands who arrive here every day it is the place of dreams and broken dreams. In the new amazing 30 Second to Mars music video “City of Angels” many top celebrities talk about their love-hate relationship about the entertainment capital.
The music video contains interviews with celebrities such as 30 Seconds to Mars lead singer Jared Leto, Kanye West, Lindsay Lohan, Selena Gomez, Ashley Olsen, Lily Collins, Olivia Wilde, James Franco, Juliette Lewis, Shaun White, Corey Feldman, Alan Cumming and Steve Nash. There are also cameos by L.A. street performers Christopher Lloyd Dennis who dresses up like Superman on Hollywood Boulevard.
The video cuts between the band singing and very candid interviews with the stars as they talk about their personal experience with the city.
“This city took my mother, but it also gave me my child,” Kanye said. His mother died following a botched plastic surgery procedure.
“I’ve been to the top and I’ve been to the bottom more times than most people ride in an elevator,” admits troubled former child star Feldman.
Lindsay Lohan also opens up about her personal struggle with the town.
“I’ve disappointed myself the most in my life, to not be like ‘Wake the f*** up. Look what you have. This is what you wanted,'” she says, adding, “Nobody’s perfect.”
Selena Gomez states she is a Disney star and that’s what she is known as.
“People try to tell me what to do every single day,” she reveals. “I think they think I’m a goody goody, I’m boring, I’m a fame whore, I use people.”
The video spans a total of 11 minutes. As a person that moved here to follow their dreams I related to everything the video was about. It was mind blowing and beautiful. The stories were amazing to hear their highs and lows. If you have a dream this will make you want to go after it!
