Lifetime’s Potential “Game Changer”

Special Correspondent: James Jewett

Lifetime has been in the process of fast tracking a new pilot name, Cinnamon. The show is being compiled by and starring Rene Zellweger and Anthony Tambakis who was a writer for the movie, Warrior. The Oscar Nominated actress and her new show are being called a “game changer” for Lifetime by the network’s president Nancy Dubuc, reports Deadline Hollywood.

The drama is a coming of age story for four women in Los Angeles. Hearing only that every TV watcher would loose interest immediately but the added kicker to this show will be its backdrop which is the expanding music and movie industries of LA during the 1960’s and 1970’s. The 1970’s have been referred to as “The Last Golden Age of American Cinema” as in the 70’s the blockbuster movie was created. Classic Films such as the Godfather and Star Wars started their epic trilogies.

Zellweger is also involved in the third installment of the Bridget Jones series. Number three is being called Bridget Jones’ Baby but the movie is running into script problems. Both Collin Firth and Hugh Grant are onboard but according to The Guardian, Helen Fielding and David Nicholls’ script and consequently the project, have been put on hiatus due to strong complaints coming from Grant.

For Zellweger fans, Hugh might have delayed the release of the next Bridget Jones movie but The story-lines in Cinnamon are infinite and could in fact be a “game changer” and worth checking out.
